Inge DeBruyn is a Belgian former competitive swimmer who specialized in butterfly and freestyle events. She was born on May 8, 1974, in Aalst, Belgium.
DeBruyn competed in the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona, where she won a bronze medal in the 100m butterfly event. She also competed in the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta, where she finished fourth in the same event.
Throughout her career, DeBruyn also won multiple medals at the European Championships and World Championships. She set several Belgian records in various events, and she was known for her strong underwater technique and powerful butterfly stroke.
After retiring from competitive swimming, DeBruyn became a sports psychologist and motivational speaker, helping athletes overcome mental barriers and achieve their full potential. She continues to be involved in the sport of swimming as a coach and mentor to young swimmers.
